How to Choose a Home Security Company
Buying a home security system is a bit different from many other purchases. You’re not just buying the equipment, but you’re also entering into a contract with a company to monitor that equipment and take action if there are any problems. Therefore, you should make sure that you make all the necessary inquiries before you come to a decision. In most cases, you should be looking for a mix of the good, old-fashioned, company that makes you feel secure, but with the most modern, state-of-the-art facilities.

Walk around the house and see if there are any weak points where the thief could get in without being seen. Are there any bushes that block the view of one of your doors or windows from your neighbors or passers-by? When you’ve done your assessment, make the necessary alterations and changes. Then do the same, but after dark. Take a look around your house and garden to see if there any “dark” areas where a burglar could stay, without being seen, while breaking his way in. If you find any, install the necessary lights to foil any would-be thieves. (more…)

But what about the security of each of the individual apartments or condo units? In almost all cases, it will be the apartment owners who will be responsible for maintaining the security of their individual apartment or unit. So what should they consider when thinking about apartment security systems? (more…)
